There is a global financial crisis upon us. You're seeing rising food prices, collapsing currencies, and Muslims as scapegoats. Don't fall for it. Read DNN News for one Muslim's perspective. It's biased, but you know the bias. Filter as you wish.

Chicago Protests Completely Ignored By Media

Now, hey… Most of you know that I’m no fan of the far right or the far left for that matter… (I’m like morally on the right, culturally & foreign policy on the left, and probably financially radical… so no party represents how I feel or think… but I digress)

Chicago protesters voiced concerns over bailouts and how the financial situation is being addressed. It was completely ignored by mainstream media.

Anyway, although I am no fan of the far right, that a protest of this magnitude in downtown Chicago was ignored by the media is an injustice. There were some other parts of the political spectrum in there as well (since most people were never told why bailouts are viewed as necessary… most of us oppose them)

Instead of ignoring the protest, engage it… address it… answer peoples’ concerns. It’s impossible to please all of the people all of the time, but at least listen to and honestly consider their concerns. If you still think your stance is correct, well, at least you reflected on it.

Ignoring the concerns either depresses or radicalizes people. It certainly doesn’t win their trust.

Let me just say this… Obama inherited a horrible situation. I wouldn’t want his job, because I’d never sleep at night (I’d probably be awake vomiting between prayers… the responsibility is immense… I hope he feels it. And I wish he would read and reflect on the inaugural address of Abu Bakr (the first khaleefah after the death of the Prophet, alayhis-salaam)… I’ll find the translation & post it in a day or two, insha’Allah.

** Footnote: BTW – Just so you don’t think I’m some whacko that will take matters into his own hands… I said “financially radical” because I think interest is included in the usury of the Old Testament and riba mentioned in Qur’an. Interest-based economies are what I take issue with.

Of course the Chicago protests were ignored by “mainstream” media as they too are either large corporations or owned by one or several. They certainly don’t want to rouse the rabble against their corporate interest and those of their cabal so they ignore the protests and focus on what some celebrity bimbo is doing today.

It sickens and saddens me that we have become a nation of sheep to be sheared and slaughtered by two rival political camps that are in the pockets of their corporate masters. Congress is comprised of nothing more than meat-puppets dangling at the end of the purse strings of their fat donors. One classic example is Wally Herger (CA 02) who does nothing more than collect corporate contributions, then votes in the interest of his keepers and lies loudly and frequently on their behalf at town hall meetings.

These executives and their enablers view us with amused contempt believing themselves above the law oblivious to the concepts of morals, scruples or ethics. Most Americans view them as elitist scum that believe they are superior to the average American upon whom they prey like financial vampires. How they are viewed by their countless victims is unprintable.

They robbed us blind by wiping out retirement investments, making millions homeless and vaporizing hundreds of thousands of jobs to profit obscenely in their wanton destruction of economies here and abroad. They not only did all of this with impunity – they were rewarded for it with bailouts and expected business as usual with no consequences now or in the future.

If it were a perfect world mobs of the banks and Wall Street’s countless victims would have stormed office towers, dragged the CEOs to the streets to be drenched in boiling tar and covered in feathers as government seized all of their assets leaving them completely impoverished to ultimately scrub toilets in the public restrooms of bus stations in the blighted cities they helped to create.

I think trying to demonstrate in the streets is not going to help. I think we need to stay home and communicate on this internet and simply change what we understand, and what we do in our everyday lives.

Funny, but these people don’t look like racist, terrorist, hostage takers that are trying to ruin the country in order to save their billionaire jet set masters. It looks to me like that they sincerely and fundamentally disagree with the policies of this administration and are exercising their right of free speech and to petition the government.
